  • 74X CultureBus runs daily from 8:40 a.m. to 5:50 p.m.

  • 74X CultureBus will not run on New Year's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

How often does 74X CultureBus run?

  • 74X CultureBus runs approximately every 20 minutes.

What's the duration of the route?

  • 74X CultureBus will ride across town, from Market Street to Golden Gate Park, in approximately 30 minutes. Time between stops varies depending on distance and traffic.

Will there be information on each organization on the bus?

  • Yes – flyers on all of the participating institutions will be available on CultureBus. Additionally, interior signage in the buses will indicate the CultureBus route and designated stops.

Where can I get more information on 74X CultureBus?

How do I pay for my CultureBus ticket?

  • CultureBus operates on a cash basis only. Credit cards and personal checks are not accepted.

Do I need exact change for the CultureBus when paying onboard?

  • Yes, in bills and coins. Bus operators do not handle money or make change.

Can I purchase tickets online for CultureBus?

  • No, not at this time.

How long are the tickets for CultureBus valid?

  • CultureBus tickets are valid for unlimited, on and off travel in any direction on the date of issue.

Are there any discounts available?

  • Yes – Muni customers who are Fast Pass® holders must show their pass when boarding and pay $3. City Pass holders also pay $3.

Does my CultureBus ticket get discounted admission at the participating cultural organizations?

  • Besides being an economical and convenient option for residents and visitors, several of the cultural institutions will also be offering discounted admission prices.

  • The California Academy of Sciences will offer $3 off the price of admission for visitors who show proof (ticket stub) of using public transportation.

  • The de Young Museum will offer $2 off the price of admission for visitors who show proof (ticket stub) of using public transportation.

Can I use my CultureBus ticket to ride other Muni bus routes, rail lines, cable cars, BART, etc.?

  • The CultureBus ticket is good as a transfer to all Muni services EXCEPT CABLE CARS.

  • The Passport is good as a transfer to all Muni services including cable cars.
